LINDEN, NJ–In the third game of the Wednesday quadrupleheader in the 2016 Linden Summer League at Linden High School, Colonia took on East Orange Campus in a clash between Greater Middlesex Conference and Super Essex Conference schools. Spurred by a combination of pressure defense, and and an up-tempo offense, the Jaguars of East Orange Campus jumped out to a 20-6 lead, and cruised from there for a 71-37 victory. Frank Lehman and Eric Marcus were bright spots for Colonia in defeat. Below are game notes from the action:
First Quarter
8:05–COL–timeout–after a layup by EOC and a foul for a 6-2 lead. Frank Lehman scored Colonia’s only points on a layup.
7:24–EOC–timeout after an earlier putback off a missed FT for an 8-2 lead.
1:12–EOC–draws foul on layup attempt and makes both FTs for a 10-2 spurt for an 18-4 lead. Eric Marcus sank a jumper from the left side for Colonia’s only points during the stretch.
0:00–Both teams add one more score to give East Orange Campus a 20-6 lead after one period.
Second Quarter

7:36–COL–Lehman–layup from left side for a 23-8 EOC lead.
5:42–EOC–three pointer from right wing for a 26-8 lead.
4:44–COL–fouled and makes both FTs for a 26-10 EOC lead.
3:50–COL–timeout after a three and a layup by EOC for a 31-10 lead.
2:28–COL–Lehman draws charge.
0:00–EOC–finishes 2nd qtr on a 7-2 run including a three and a breakaway layup for a 38-12 lead.
Third Quarter
8:09–EOC–timeout–still leading 38-12.
5:28–COL–Marcus layup ends 5-2 EOC run for a 41-16 EOC lead.
3:57–COL–adds two more scores including a pull-up jumper by Marcus for a 41-20 EOC lead.
1:10–EOC–scores last 6 points including a breakaway dunk for a 47-21 lead.
0:00–COL–scores on a layup from the right low block with time running out for a 50-23 EOC lead after three.
Fourth Quarter
8:09–COL–scores 4 of the first 6 points of the period including a layup by a cutting Lehman for a 52-27 EOC lead.
4:00–COL–has scored the last four points on jumpers from the left side, but EOC leads 60-33.
0:00–EOC–ends the game on an 11-4 run including a score in the final seconds. Marcus had a hand in both of COL’s scores with a layup off a nice dish by Lehman and an assist on another layup. EOC wins 71-37.
