Bridgewater Summer League–Some Results–July 12, 2016

BASKING RIDGE, NJ–On Tuesday evening, GMC Hoops traveled over to the Ridge High School to take in action from the 2016 Bridgewater Summer League. Two GMC teams were in action as East Brunswick took on Plainfield at 5:00 PM and Piscataway battled Immaculata in the nightcap at 7:00 PM.

In the first game, East Brunswick used the three point shot in the first half to jump out to a 20-8 lead, and eventually led to a 32-13 advantage at halftime. The Bears led grew to 24 midway through the second half before the Cardinals made a late run to make the game a little more respectable.

Following EB’s contest against Plainfield, Westfield took on Hackettstown in the middle game in Ridge’s auxiliary gym. Trailing 21-18 with 13:56 remaining, the Blue Devils rallied with a 13-7 finish to the contest for a 31-28 victory in the non-conference contest between teams from the Union County Conference and the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference.

Finally, in the nightcap, Piscataway took on Immaculata of the Skyland Conference, and the Chiefs battled throughout, but the Spartans were took much, especially in the second half. After P-Way opened the second half with a three from Jordan Davidson to pull within five at 22-17, Immaculata embarked on a 25-8 surge to take a 47-25 lead late before the Chiefs got a couple scores to finish the game.
