BASKING RIDGE, NJ–In the first game of the GMC Hoops tripleheader at the 2016 Bridgewater Summer League being run at Ridge High School, East Brunswick took on Plainfield in a clash of GMC and Union County Conference teams. Using a plethora of three pointers from Gil Wyman, Ezra Levitt, and Joe Sampson as well as a couple of traditional three point plays, the Bears were able to garner a 32-13 halftime lead, and led by as many as 24 in the second half before winning, 52-32. 12:46–EB–Wyman swishes a three from the left wing after a layup and jumper by Tom Connolly to cap a 7-2 run for a 43-21 lead.
11:11–EB–Eric Schneider basket and foul, but misses FT for a 45-21 lead.
5:18–EB–timeout with a 47-25 lead after a 4-2 PLFD run. Mitchell Pingoy layup all the scoring for EB.
4:08–EB–Sampson–fouled and makes both FTs for a 49-27 lead.
