St. Joseph’s Surges Past East Orange Campus
LINDEN, NJ–In the opener of the quadrupleheader in the Monday-Wednesday Division of the 2016 Linden Summer League, St. Joseph’s took on East Orange Campus of the Super Essex Conference.
Trailing 20-17 with 4:29 remaining in the first half, St. Joseph’s outscored East Orange by a 13-6 margin the rest of the second period including an 8-1 tear over the final minute to take a 30-26 lead. Xavier Townes helped lead the way for Joes with five points including a three pointer.
Then, in the second half, the Falcons went back to work thanks to a three from Mike Granda. Dexter Jackson added 8 points while Ryan Granito added a couple scores and freshmen Matt Crowley handed out an assist on another score as St. Joseph’s outscored East Orange by a 36-20 margin over the final two quarters to lead by as many as 26 before winning by 20.
