Immaculata Fall League–Week Five–Results–October 16, 2016

St. Joseph’s Rolls Past Hillsborough; Piscataway Edges Bridgewater-Raritan

SOMERVILLE, NJ–On Sunday night, GMC Hoops traveled over to Immaculata High School for the nightcap game in Week Five action in the 2016 Immaculata Fall League. St. Joseph’s was taking on Hillsborough in this contest and the Falcons played perhaps their best game of the fall.

Taking a 7-2 lead early on, St. Joe’s weathered a 9-4 rally by Hillsborough to tie the game at 11-11 by putting together an 8-0 run that included a three by Mikey Granda for a 19-11 lead. St. Joseph’s then added a couple more scores before Hillsborough sank a trey just before the half to close the gap to 23-16 at the break.

The Falcons then opened up the second half by scoring 8 of the first 10 points including a three by Letrell West for a 31-18 lead with 17:51 remaining. Then, after a three banked in for Hillsborough, St. Joseph’s reeled off 13 of the next 15 points that included a three, a putback, and a layup by Malachi Walker, and another three by Granda for a 44-23 lead.

From there, the Falcons led by as many as 26 points before winning by a couple dozen. Below are all the results from Week Five action at Immaculata including Piscataway’s one point win over Bridgewater-Raritan.

GMC Hoops plans to be back out at the Immaculata Fall League again next week with all the games slated to be played at the Branchburg Recreation Center.
