Here is a slideshow of photos from the action in Wardlaw’s win over Piscataway Tech in a GMC Gold Division clash near the midpoint of the GMC boys basketball season. GMC Hoops traveled out to Piscataway Tech for the first time this season for a GMC Gold Division clash between the Raiders and Wardlaw.
With the score tied at 2-2 at the 6:25 mark of the first, Wardlaw put together a 10-4 run that included a layup by Scott Hargrove for a 12-6 lead. Piscataway Tech battled back to within three at 18-15 with a 9-6 run sparked by a Taquan Smith bucket to end the first and capped by a three from Daniel Peacock at the 3:08 mark of the second for an 18-15 Wardlaw lead.
Wardlaw then finished the first half by scoring 8 of the last 11 points of the second including a a bank shot by Raphael Genty for a 26-18 lead going into the intermission. The Raiders opened up the third by scoring 5 of the first 7 points including a Branden Barnes layup from the right low block to narrow the deficit to 28-23 at the 6:07 mark.
The Rams then ended the third with an 8-3 spurt including two Ryan Petela threes for a 38-30 lead heading into the final period. Wardlaw then started the fourth on a 9-2 run including another three from Petela for a 47-32 lead with 2:05 to play. P-Way Tech finished the game with an 11-2 spurt, but Wardlaw still came away with the 49-43 victory.
