Spotswood Representing GMC Again in Crusader Classic over the Holidays
BOUND BROOK, NJ—On Tuesday, GMC Hoops received the schedule for the 2021 Bound Brook Crusader Classic scheduled to take place over the holidays on December 28th and 29th at Bound Brook High School. Spotswood will once again be representing the Greater Middlesex Conference in this holiday tourney.
The Chargers will open up tourney play in the first game against Great Oaks Charter on Tuesday, December 28th at 5:00 PM. Following that game will be the contest between Bound Brook and Point Pleasant Beach in the nightcap at 7:00 PM. The Crusaders and the Garnet Gulls are no strangers to each other having played several times in the Central Jersey Group 1 state playoffs in recent years.
Spotswood has appeared in the Bound Brook Crusader Classic every year since 2007 and has won the tourney five times with the last title coming in 2016. The Chargers have appeared in the Championship Game 9 times including the last year the tourney was played in 2019, and has a record of 5-4 in the final. The Chargers have placed either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the tourney every year except 2018, and has an overall record of 15-9.
The winners of the two opening round games will then play in the Championship Game at 7:00 PM on December 29th while the opening round losers will face off in a Consolation Game for 3rd Place earlier in the day at 3:00 PM.
