Sayreville Representing GMC in Holiday Tourney at Red Bank HS
RED BANK, NJ—On Saturday, GMC Hoops learned that the 2021 Albert Martin Buc Classic is scheduled to begin on Monday with Sayreville representing the Greater Middlesex Conference in this annual holiday tournament. St. Thomas Aquinas and Woodbridge, which had been recently competing in this tourney are competing in the Boardwalk Basketball Classic in Wildwood, NJ while Woodbridge is competing in the Monroe Holiday Tournament.
Sayreville, which is by former Bombers standout, John Wojcik, who is in his second stint at the school, will play top seeded Ranney in the 2nd game of the day on Monday, December 27th. The Bombers, which didn’t play its first game until this past Thursday (December 23rd) due to COVID protocols, are seeded eighth. The winner of this game will take on the winner of 4th seeded Middletown North and 5th seeded Long Branch.
Red Bank, seeded 6th will then take on Christian Brothers Academy of Lincroft at 3:30 PM on Monday followed by the nightcap game between 2nd seeded Rumson-Fair Haven and 7th seeded Lacey Township from Ocean County. Rumson-Fair Haven and Red Bank have already played each other this season with the Bulldogs defeating the Bucs 73-68 on December 23rd.
