2021 Metuchen Bulldogs Holiday Tournament Schedule and Bracket

Bulldogs Hosting Holiday Tourney on Wednesday and Thursday

METUCHEN, NJ—On Sunday, GMC Hoops learned that Metuchen will again be hosting its annual holiday tournament on Wednesday, December 28th and Thursday December 29th at Metuchen High School.  There will be a boys and girls tournament, and four teams will be playing in the boys tourney this year.

In addition to Metuchen, the only representative from the Greater Middlesex Conference in the tourney, there is also Bernards of the Skyland Conference, Roselle of the Union County Conference, and West Windsor-Plainsboro South of the Colonial Valley Conference.  All three of these teams have played in the tourney at one time with Bernards making an appearance in the event for the first time since 2014.

West Windsor-Plainsboro South and Roselle will open tourney play on Wednesday at 10:00 AM with a first round matchup.  Then, in the afternoon, Metuchen will host Bernards in the second first round game.  The opening round winners will then meet in the Championship on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 PM.  Metuchen last won the tourney in the championship format in 2013 when it defeated Bernards in the title game (53-34).

Since 2011, Metuchen and Bernards have met in holiday tournament play four times with Bernards winning three (2011, 2012, and 2014) and Metuchen winning once in 2013.  The Bulldogs are led this year by Marywood University commit, Dominic Schiappa and Max Cohn.  Schiappa is one of the top active scorers in the GMC with 840 points, or a career average of 12.9 points per game.
