Catching Up With Former St. Joe’s Standout Lamar Fisher

Sayreville Native Playing At Division III Cabrini College

RADNOR, PA–Besides Larry Lenahan and Timmy Brix playing at Centenary College, former St. Joseph’s hoops standout, Lamar Fisher, is also playing in the Colonial States Athletic Conference at Cabrini College. Now a senior at the school, Fisher has played in four of the five games for the Cavaliers, and has average 8.8 minutes per game, 3.5 points per game, and 1.8 rebounds per game. Fisher has made 6 of 9 shots from the floor for 67 percent while making both his free throw attempts. He also has collected three assists, a steal, and a block. So far this season, Cabrini is 4-1 overall including a 2-0 mark in conference play.

According to his profile and 2009-10 team stats on the Cabrini Athletics web site, Fisher played in 28 games including one start for the Cavaliers. He averaged 17.9 minutes per game, 4.3 points per game, 1.6 rebounds per game, and 1.6 assists per game. Fisher also added 22 steals and 8 blocks while shooting 50 of 98 from the floor for 51 percent, and 16 of 23 from the foul line for just under 70 percent. The Cavaliers went 25-3 last season including a conference championship with 17-1 mark in the CSAC. Qualifying for the NCAA Division III tournament, Cabrini fell to 16th ranked Randolph-Macon College in the opening round.

As a sophomore, he played in all 30 of Cabrini’s games including 13 starts. He averaged nearly 25 minutes per game, 6.4 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game (tied for third), and 2.0 assists per game (second on the team). Fisher posted a career high double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds against Keystone on December 1, 2008. He connected on 77 of 184 shots for just under 42 percent. In the 2008-09 campaign, Cabrini went 22-8 overall including a 12-4 mark in the CSAC. The Cavaliers lost to Gwynedd Mercy College in the Championship Game of the CSAC tourney (108-96), and then reached the ECAC Championship Game, where it fell to Washington & Jefferson College (79-67).

As a freshman, Fisher played in 26 games including 11 starts. He averaged 20 minutes per game, 2.8 points per game, 2.2 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game (second on team), and 1.4 steals per game. He added 9 blocks as well as shot 25 of 71 from the floor for 35 percent including 5 of 20 from the foul line while hitting 18 of 24 from the charity stripe for 75 percent. In 2008-09, Cabrini went 12-14 overall including a 9-7 mark in conference play.
