St. Joseph’s DeCosey Honored As NJ Hoops Player Of The Month

OLD BRIDGE, NJ–On Tuesday, GMC Hoops learned from Jay Gomes of NJ Hoops that Quenton DeCosey, junior swingman from St. Joseph’s, was named H.S. Player of the Month for the Central and South Jersey region. DeCosey, who scored 36 points for a career high on Tuesday night against J.P. Stevens in a GMC Red contest, has already scored 31 points or more three times this season.

DeCosey, who scored 31 points in a 51-49 loss at East Brunswick two days before Christmas, averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game over the three contests that the Falcons won at the Joe Silver Holiday Tournament in Hillside. He scored 22 in a 58-39 victory over Lincoln on the first day of the tournament, and 31 in a 62-40 win over the host school, Hillside in the tourney finale. So far this season, DeCosey is averaging 19.7 points per game through the first seven games this season. The Falcons, which were pre-season ranked #1 in the GMC Hoops Top Ten, are currently 6-1, and ranked third in the latest poll.
