Here are video highlights from top seeded and top ranked St. Joseph’s 55-43 victory over fifth seeded Cardinal McCarrick in the semifinal round of the 2012 Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament at South Brunswick High School in Monmouth Junction.
After a back and forth first half of the first period, which saw 4 lead changes and a tie, St. Joseph’s took a three point lead into the second with a 6-3 showing in the remainder of the period, and then led the game until early in the third when McCarrick tied things up again at 29-29 on a Marques Townes basket with 6:20 to go in the period.
However, the Falcons went on a 9-0 run over the next two minutes or so for a 38-29 lead, and never let McCarrick get closer than five after that. Quenton DeCosey scored 22 points including 16 in the second half while Danny Brix added 20 including 16 in the first half. Jonathan Rodriguez scored 20 for McCarrick while Townes added 10.
