ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ–In the shadows of the Twin Lights of Navesink, and not to far from shore locales Sandy Hook and Sea Bright, which are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, GMC Hoops was at Henry Hudson Regional High School to see the Admirals in action against South Amboy in the consolation game of the Genevieve Hawley Tournament. The Guvs took command early, and led 18-10 with 4:06 to go in the first half before they got a couple of layups by Joe Fruncillo off lob passes by Tim Kales, and then a three from Steve Herdman to lead by 13 before going into the locker room ahead, 25-15 at the intermission. In the third quarter, the Guvs put together an 18-8 showing including a four point play by Herdman at the 1:27 mark, and another three by Herdman at the 52 second mark for a 43-23 lead after three en route to a 53-37 victory.
