Here are highlights of the action between St. Joseph’s and Montverde Academy in the finale of the 2014 Metro Classic at Kean University’s Harwood Arena. The Falcons, led by Kentucky bound Karl Towns with a team high 22 points and sophomore Breein Tyree with 17 points, took a 43-36 halftime lead, and had a 62-55 lead towards the end of the third quarter when the Eagles of MVA went on a 16-0 tear that lasted well into the fourth quarter to take a 71-62 lead, and went on to win from there by a final of 79-70. D’Angelo Russell led all scorers with 24 points for Montverde while teammate Ben Simmons chipped in with 22.
