South River Falls to Robbinsville in Thursday Night Action at MSC
MONROE, NJ–For the first time in several weeks, GMC Hoops traveled over to the Monroe Sports Center to take in action from a Week Four contest at the 2015 MSC Fall League. Thursday night was the first time this off-season that GMC Hoops had the chance to take a look at the South River Rams, which have been fairly competitive this fall at MSC.
However, tonight, South River took it on the chin to a Robbinsville squad that had entered week four with a 1-2 mark. The Rams were competitive early on, only trailing 6-5 with senior Antonio Martinez leading the way with a floater for the first Rams points of the game, and an assist on a three pointer from the left corner to close the gap to 6-5. From that point on, it was all Ravens.
The Ravens went on a 13-2 tear over the next 5 minutes or so to take a 19-7 lead. After a three by the Rams closed the gap to single digits again, Robbinsville embarked on an 18-4 surge over the next 9:23 to take a 37-14 lead with around a minute to go in the first half. South River ended the half on a positive note with an 8-7 run including a three pointer from the right corner as time ran out to trail 44-22 at the half. Robbinsville cruised from there for the easy victory. Martinez ended up with 12 points including a couple threes while also handing out several assists. Below is the final score of the contest.
