SOMERVILLE, NJ–On Sunday night at the 2015 Immaculata Fall League, GMC Hoops saw the St. Joseph’s Falcons for the first time this fall in a 7:00 PM contest against Morristown of the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference. Led by seniors Tyus Battle (17 points), who is headed to Syracuse, and Mississippi bound Bree Tyree (10 points), the Falcons rallied from a 45-41 deficit with under three minutes to play by scoring 9 of the last 11 points for the 50-47 victory. Tyree scored 5 points over the final 2:05 including a three point play to pull the Falcons within one, and then a score in the final minute to put Joes in front. After Morristown made two free throws with 51.83 seconds left, Xaiver Townes (4 points) scored on a putback with 26 seconds left to give the Falcons the lead for good. Meanwhile, Battle, who scored 14 of his points in the second half including two three pointers and a couple other scores, sealed the win with two free throws with less than a second to play.
