GMC Hoops to Open 2016-17 Season with Sayreville @ North Brunswick

Site to Cover JV and Varsity Doubleheader between Bombers and Raiders

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–Opening night is rapidly approaching and GMC Hoops has yet to announce where it will be on December 16th when the Greater Middlesex Conference Boys Basketball season will commence.

For the second straight year, GMC Hoops will cover North Brunswick in action as the Raiders will host Sayreville, which is projected to be the 2016-17 pre-season number one. North Brunswick returns to the White Division after being in the Red for the past two seasons.

The Raiders have graduated some talent over the past two seasons, but has a good group of players coming up from a JV squad that won the 2016 East Brunswick/GMC JV Tournament last February. Led by the likes of GMC Hoops JV player of the Year, Jordan Salisbury as well as All EB/GMC JV Tourney Team members, Avery Claggett and Jhonell Brown, NBTHS is looking to improve.

Meanwhile, Sayreville returns seven players from last season including 1,000 point scorer Ryan O’Leary and big man, Jahsim Floyd as well as GMC Hoops All Sophomore Team member, Elijah Clarke. In addition, the Bombers added St. Joseph’s transfer Xavier Townes and have top JV standout from last year, Zac Kaczmarek coming up to varsity.

In addition to seeing the varsity contest, GMC Hoops plans to see some of the action from the JV contest as well. Follow the action via Twitter @gmchoops and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/GMCHoops.
